Factoring and supply chain finance: review before you disburse.
Receivables are bought fast – and that is exactly where the risk lies: the same invoice financed twice, deliveries that never happened, payments through third parties. Recent insolvencies of large receivables financiers have shown how costly this gets. TFI TradeCore brings controls into the purchase that detect such patterns, hold the disbursement and evidence every decision.
What the purchase is measured against
- Directive (EU) 2015/849 as amended · AMLR from 10 Jul 2027 · national AML law
Anti-money laundering
Factoring institutions are obliged entities: customer due diligence, risk assessment and suspicious activity reporting – soon under the EU AML Regulation.
- EBA/GL/2020/06 · national supervisory rules (in Germany: MaRisk BTO 1.2.1)
Preventing double financing
For receivables financing, checking the underlying reference is part of proper credit processing under supervisory requirements.
- FATF and Egmont Group · 2021
TBML indicators
Prices, quantities, third-party payers and threshold structuring as typical patterns of trade-based money laundering.
- Reg. (EU) 833/2014 · EU · UK · US
Sanctions and circumvention
Check buyers, suppliers and goods against sanctions lists, goods bans and circumvention routes.
- UK ECCTA · since 1 Sep 2025
Fraud prevention
A new offence of failure to prevent fraud for large organisations with a UK nexus – financiers included.
- ITFA · FCI
Market standards
Industry standards for forfaiting, receivables purchase and supply chain finance presuppose robust review and documentation.
Three patterns TradeCore detects
- 01
The same receivable twice
An invoice is submitted for financing a second time – through a different client or under a new reference. The party network detects the same receivable, the same invoice of the same debtor and identical documents in two cases, and holds the transaction.
- 02
Circular trade
Buyer and supplier swap roles in a second transaction and share the same address and bank account. TradeCore links the signals into a cluster and routes it to the second-line review.
- 03
Unusual volume
A supplier suddenly submits far more receivables than declared in its customer profile. The profile deviation holds the case until someone decides with reasons.

Double-financing check
We start with an anonymised sample of your book: which patterns show up, which controls are missing, what would TradeCore hold? TFI TradeCore is pre-production: technically complete and backed by more than 3,600 automated tests (as of September 2026), but not yet released for production use with real customer data. That is why we start with a clearly scoped pilot project in a test or shadow environment.
- An anonymised sample from your book
- Analysis for double financing, duplicate documents, circular trade and third-party payments
- A findings report with measures for your purchase review
- On request, a TFI TradeCore pilot in your environment
Questions from financiers
No legal advice and no credit assessment. TradeCore detects double financing within your own book; the platform does not see other financiers’ data. Your responsible people decide on purchase and disbursement.
Does TradeCore detect double financing at other financiers?
No. TradeCore works with your institution’s data and detects double financing within your book – across clients, programmes and products. Looking beyond your own institution needs registers or data sharing, which we can connect.
Does TradeCore suit a small team?
Yes. The controls run automatically, and only anomalies land in the work queue – with reasons and evidence. That keeps the review fully documented even with few people.
Can we review large invoice volumes?
Today TradeCore handles transactions case by case; there is no bulk invoice import yet. For high-volume programmes we clarify in the double-financing check which transactions belong in TradeCore and how to connect them.
Which products does TradeCore cover?
Besides letters of credit, guarantees and collections, six types of financing: pre- and post-shipment finance, invoice discounting, receivables purchase, supply chain finance and forfaiting.
